Using the MeltPrep Slider is easy! Simply turn on the tool, wait for it to reach full heat, place your material on the Glass Slide, and gently slide it over the instrument. As the material begins to soften, you can visually detect the transition into a viscous liquid—no additional calibration is needed. Once you've identified this key parameter, you'll have the precise temperature needed to set the heating unit for the VCM process.

The MeltPrep Slider simplifies estimating whether your material's viscosity is suitable for the VCM process. Start by determining the softening point of your material and allowing it to soften. Once softened, flip the Glass Slide with the material upright. If the material stays on the Glass Slide without sliding off, the viscosity is ideal for the VCM process.
